Monster Cable 126130 iCable for iPod description

    Description
    Product Description:
Get a high performance audio connection from your iPod, laptop or desktop to your stereo system. iCable incorporates Monster Cable's latest audio cable technologies for digital MP3 music in a compact design that matches the portability of your iPod. Features: free cable carry pouch; 24K gold contacts for greater signal integrity; straight-cut turbine RCA and split-tip center pin for greater contact pressure and contact mass for better signal transfer; hex mesh jacket to keep your iCable tangle free; DoubleHelix construction for dual tightly twisted conductors that eliminate electromagnetic interference; dual "balance" conductors for more natural, balanced digital music reproduction; and patented multigauge wire networks for clearer highs and tighter bass. iPod sold separately.

    From Amazon.com:
What classier cable to use when hooking your iPod up with your home stereo than Monster Cable's custom iCable interconnect? Your iPod is capable of delivering audiophile-quality sound, and the iCable uses Monster Cable's latest technologies to deliver a connection that maximizes the transmission quality of your digital music while being rugged enough for portable use. Just plug the minijack connector into your iPod's headphone jack and connect the RCA jacks into any pair of left/right analog inputs and you're ready to rock. It even comes with a handy, road-ready carrying pouch.

The iCable's straight-cut turbine RCA and split-tip pins provide excellent contact pressure at the component end, while its 24k gold contacts ensure high signal integrity at both ends. Further, the interconnect's twisted-pair XLN technology offers superior noise rejection--important when connecting your iPod in an environment that's high in radio-frequency or electromagnetic interference. A gracious, seven-foot length accommodates tricky stereo hookups.

Monster Cable 126130 iCable for iPod - 1 stars

I don't believe this is a Monster Cable product. The RCA connections didn't fit the female connection firmly.
What a bad product . . . and example of customer service! - 1 stars
Monster Cable 126130 iCable for iPod Review
This is a long-time coming, but man is this product bad! The male piece that fit into the receiver either don't fully engage (like they did on mine) or if you get them to engage, when you try and take them off they actually disengage the female pieces from the receiver (like they did with my brother's who coincidentally needed a new receiver!). Apparently, there's a third option, where people actually get it to work. At least that's what I infer from the fact that some people wrote positive reviews for this product.

Well, I had it out with their customer dis-service department and they kept sending me the exact same piece that wouldn't work. After the third replacement cable failed to engage, Monster replaced it with another monster cable that works great . . . but it was $10.00 cheaper and Monster failed to adequately explain the price difference. The warranty person convinced me it was better . . . hell it worked . . . that's better! But, he was never able to convince me why they charged $10.00 less for a "better" cable. They never issued me the price difference! Maybe they thought I would want to keep the old cable that didn't work and we would be even?

I will still buy Monster . . . until I find a better cable out there, which I hope happens soon. Please let it happen soon!

Good strong cables - 5 stars

Worth the slight extra over the standard cables. These are strong, thick and durable wires for the best sound possible. i would recommend.
    Monster Ripoff - 1 stars
Monster Cable 126130 iCable for iPod Review
Yes, these cables produce among the best sound you will get...from a cable. They do this at about 3X the price of cables with essentially the exact same production. Also, though these are gold plated and covered in sturdy mesh, the actual tips of these are horribly constructed by comparison. You have to very carefully jiggle the ends out of your stereo inputs by grabbing the tips or the wires will literally RIP out of the cables and you will eventually have a dangling wire or two sticking out of the side and now you have horrible sound. After about 17 months or so of owning these, they are now worthless. So buy something else.
this a ripoff for two reasons - 1 stars
Monster Cable 126130 iCable for iPod Review
the first is that analog audio quality is not going to diminish over 7 feet of cable so there's no reason to buy premium quality cable. the second and more frustrating reason is that using the headphone line out to connect to a home stereo will result in terrible sound no matter what freakin cable you use. that is high level audio (amplified to drive headphone speakers) that then gets amplified again by your stereo. the result is clipped high-end and muddy bass. the reviewers that clain "pristine sound" and the like are either half deaf or monster employees. get an ipod dock connector to rca. it will send low level audio to your receiver and give much better sound.Cables To Go 35507 - iPod Dock Connector To 2 RCA Cable
