Delphi's XM SkyFi2 Radio Receiver offers convenient plug-and-play XM Satellite Radio reception for the car, home, or office, including the first-ever pause and replay functions for satellite radio. Now you can pause or replay up to 30 minutes of live XM programming, and the SkyFi2 continuously and automatically saves the last 30 minutes of programming, including programming from multiple XM channels. Additional SkyFi2 features include a large scroll wheel and a convenient wireless remote control. SkyFi2 adapter kits for the home and vehicle let you enjoy uninterrupted XM radio service in any vehicle, at home, or at the office. The SkyFi2 vehicle adapter kit works in any existing car stereo system (with mounting options), and the SkyFi2 home adapter kit is adaptable to most home or workplace audio systems and multimedia speakers.
This package comes equipped with the XM SkyFi Vehicle Kit. This vehicle adapter kit is just the thing to complete your Delphi SkyFi2 radio system. To install your SkyFi2 in a car, you need this kit, which contains a vehicle cradle, a cassette adapter, an antenna, and a 12-volt power adapter.
The vehicle cradle holds your SkyFi2 receiver and provides connections for audio, power, and antenna cables. The 12-volt power adapter plugs into your cigarette lighter and powers SkyFi2 through the vehicle cradle. The cassette adapter, meanwhile, lets you listen to XM right through your car stereo's cassette deck.
XM's digital programming lineup features 67 commercial-free music channels, from hip hop to opera, classical to country, bluegrass to blues; 63 channels of sports, talk, children's programming, and entertainment, and 21 channels of weather and traffic.

Ok, the SkyFi2 is getting old, but it still works just fine. The display shows it's age with large pixel text, it's a bit bulky, it's thicker than it might appear in the photos, but if portability isn't a big issue for you, then this is a really cheap way to get XM for yourself. The sound is just fine, the features are actually very nice, the newer units don't have that much on the old SF2, especially if you set up in one place and leave it. I purchased this for a friend, along with a home kit, and the signal repeater, all together, for less than most of the recivers alone. |

I really like my skyfi2. The pause feature is great. This unit is easy to use. It does not give you the option of changing the screen color, which makes a difference when you do allot of night driving. The car kit comes with many mounting options to fit almost any application (temporary or permanent). I do not really like the scroll wheel. In DIRECT TUNE mode you must turn the wheel one click to make it WAKE UP. The second click will cause it to change the channel. This is really annoying when you want to go through the channels one at a time to discover new channels that you might like. However the remote control has UP/DOWN buttons that allow channel by channel navigation to be simple just like a tv remote. |

Purchased this satellite receiver to use at a vacation home in the mountains of southern california. I already own a 4+ year old delphi roady that had no issues in this regard, but decided to get a second receiver so I would not have to transport the roady back and forth from my home to the mountains and it always received a great signal from the satellite. The new receiver was incapable of even being able to locate or load the signal in order to activate an additonal account with xm. I activated the device in town without difficulty but as soon as I moved it back to the mountains, no signal could be found. NOT RECOMMENDED for anyone who needs good satellite reception in mountains. BE WARNED that xm customer service is not helpfull or forthcoming with issues related to placement of this receiver. |

This was a replacement for the SkyFi2 I purchased about 3 years ago. (The old one was stolen)The old one would transmit thru the Fm modulator to my auto stereo perfectly. This new one must not have the same type of modulator, as it won't transmit to my auto stereo. It does, but fades in and out and usually with a LOT of static, just like there was no antenna hooked up. It will work fine with the cassette adapter and the gizmo that you have to run out and put on the outside antenna. I don't like either of those methods. I like XM radio, but not the changes made to this SkyFi2 receiver! |
