Everything I Expected, July 25, 2008

Researched for almost a year. I have a Panasonic ED Plasma from three years ago....that I paid 2300 for. I just wanted to upgrade to 1080, better pic etc. It came down to this and Panasonic TH-42PZ85U. Last minute measuring of my entertainment center made the choice easier as the panaconic was about 1" too big. HDMI picture is awesome. Sound from the TV is even pretty good. Better through DTS but pretty good. Amazon service was very good. A little fuzzy on some regular def channels, but I rarely watch those. Sooner or later those will turn to Hi def anyway.
Pic in Pic....is there a swap function? I don't think there is. If so, can someone please advise? I can't figure it out.
Also...is there an on/off switch on the TV itself? Please advise if there is. Can't find that either.
People complain about the remote....It is fine....I think people just need something to complain about. Now that I have all the settings done, I just use the Comcast remote anyway
Very happy. The red is no big deal either. I actually think it looks kind of cool.

Another Fast Delivery, July 25, 2008

Like many of you I've read all the great reviews about this set and decided to pull the trigger when I saw the $1699 price.(which has since raised) Everything about the quality of the LN46A650 has already been said but the quality of the delivery service seems to get mixed reviews.
I ordered my set on Sunday morning and it was delivered at noon on Wednesday. It was in perfect condition and actually delivered by an agent apparently contracted by CEVA. The driver was very pleasant and polite and stayed until I was happy that there were no problems with the set.
Although very fast, the delivery didn't come without some major confusion from CEVA.
CEVA seems to have some real issues knowing exactly where their items are. After reading about all the issues with CEVA on the Amazon forums I took the advice from those posts and called CEVA to set up my delivery rather than waiting for them to call me. I called them on Tuesday when I saw their tracking showed my set was in Philadelphia which is their closest terminal to my house. They set me up for Wednesday delivery. Late Wednesday morning I called to confirm delivery and was told that someone must have made a mistake and that my set was in Columbus Ohio. They then offered to set me up for Friday delivery.
Within the hour I got a call from the delivery agent and was told they had my set on their truck and were on their way to deliver it.(now I was really confused)I asked them to have their driver call me so I could arrange to meet him. The truck showed up and miraculously had my TV that CEVA thought was still in Ohio.
It gets better.....Later that evening I got a call from another driver that said he was going to deliver my TV tomorrow and wanted directions to my house.
Bottom line....keep an eye on the CEVA tracking system and call to set up and confirm your delivery. If they seem confused or give you questionable information make sure you question it or call again and ask someone else. It seems their system works....they just don't know it.
The set is awesome and the price here on Amazon is the best you'll find. As it turned out, even with the confusion I was thrilled with the fast delivery and ease of this purchase!

Delivery was Excellent!!!, July 25, 2008

I was so very impressed with my delivery today of my 46" Samsung TV by CEVA that I wanted to let others know that it works. The set was in its original packaging (which I have saved) by two guys who knew what they were doing. It was a "white glove" delivery all the way. Buying on-line saved me $500 and included free shipping. If I had purchased this TV from a "brick & mortar" store such as Sears it would have cost me an additional $65.00 for delivery. Delivery was expedient with the set arriving within a 2-day period of time. I checked the software update as per the directions from the Amazon discussions and found that my set has updated software. As soon as I have it cable-ready I will write another review. By the way, I also purchased the Logitech Harmony 520 remote control as per the Amazon discussion group and I found it easy to program and have ready for my TV and DVD player. Life is good!!! Amazon can be proud of the services I have gotten use to. A " brick& mortar" store could not have done any better on the service. Service was A+.

Great TV! Great Price!, July 24, 2008

I bought this TV for my parents and they love it. The 650 series Samsung has all the great features you could want in a TV and Amazon had a great deal on the price.
The picture quality is crystal clear even in a well lit room and the 4 HDMI ports ensure that all our equipment is hooked up with the highest possible data integrity. The 120Hz refresh rate vs 60Hz may not sound that impressive, but the visual difference is astounding. Since I bought it, I have already recommended this TV and other TVs in the Samsung 650 series to friends and coworkers.

Samsung LN46A650 46-Inch HDTV, July 23, 2008

This is a fantastic HDTV. I spent many weeks pouring over reviews and going to the local electronics store before settling on this unit. The picture is GREAT and the sound is very good as well. It has lots of features and options that the general user will not need but for the money this is a super set.
I have a Toshiba 56" DLP that doesn't have the 1080P or the 120Hz and although it is a nice set it doesn't compare to the Samsung. On sports with the 120Hz is were I can tell a big difference as the Toshiba has a trailing effect to a lot of the fast motion were the Samsung doesn't.
My recommendation--- if your looking for a 46inch top of the line LCD HDTV for a good price then this is it.
