A HUGE Nora Roberts fan totally disappointed... - 1 stars
    Blood Brothers Review
I am Nora Roberts' biggest fan. Period. Bought everything I could get my hands on. Read and re-read all her greats many, many times. BUT...I couldn't even finish this one. After about 60 pages, I put it down. I was bored, a condition I thought I would never experience with a Nora Roberts' book. Found myself skimming pages. If she would get back to GREAT romance writing, like the "Born In" series (the best!) or the Quinn Brothers series...wow...wouldn't that would be awesome? If she wants to write this "dark" stuff, fine--get another pen name and do it. But don't disappoint those of us who love the GREAT romances she's written. I would NOT recommend this series.
Review of Audio CD - 4 stars
    Blood Brothers Review
I listen to the audio books whenever I can, and read the books I can't get on audio. Let me preface my remarks by saying that I'm a huge fan of Nora Roberts' work; that said, there are certainly some books I enjoy more than others. Also, with audio books, another factor in the equation is the narrator.
I agree with previous reviewers that the characters could have been fleshed out a little more fully. I enjoyed the story and the narrator had a good voice while reading the parts of the three men, but fell short when trying to do the women, especially trying to give Layla a New York accent.
I do recommend this and enjoy the various types of stories (murder mysteries, romance, paranormal) that Nora Roberts can create.

Not as good as the Circle Trilogy - 4 stars
    Blood Brothers Review
The first books I've ever read by Nora Roberts were the Circle Trilogy (Morrigan's Cross, Valley of Silence, Dance of the Gods). I was expecting this trilogy to be as good. This book takes place in Hawkins Hollow Maryland. In a nutshell it's about 3 best friends, born on the same day, same year, same time. They become blood brothers at the Pagan Stone and in the ritual they release something dark and evil. Every 7 years the evil takes over for a week and the townspeople basically go crazy. Enter 3 women who also have a connection to Hawkins Hollow and you have the beginnings of love relationships and fighting evil.

All the characters are very likable, it's well written, but it just didn't hold my interest. I started to get really into the book towards the end. It's a mild page turner. The love between Cal and Quinn is expected from the start. Fox and Layla I'm sure before the end of the trilogy will be involved. I was disappointed it took so long in the book to bring Gage back. And it's seems obivious he and Cybil will be a couple before the end of the trilogy.

As with Nora Roberts' Circle Trilogy the romance isn't overdone or too much. But the story line just isn't engaging enough to make it an exceptional book.

I won't be getting the final book in the trilogy - 1 stars
    Blood Brothers Review
I read the first 2 books in the Sign of Seven Trilogy, and I only bought the second book because I was hoping that it would be better than the first one, and thus get me hooked on the story but I was in for even more disappointment. I struggled to finish the first book and the second one was even more tedious.
I'm all for books on the struggle between good and evil, and don't mind a little bit of 'spook factor' but these 2 books were just downright creepy and not in a good way. I couldn't even get to care for the characters.
Unlike some reviewers I actually liked the Circle trilogy which was also a 'good vs. evil' trilogy, mainly because you could see the 'real' Nora Roberts in the writing-the witty conversation, the humor and the emotions, were all there. These are key elements that keep me returning to NR time and time again.
For the first time ever, I will be skipping the final book in a NR trilogy and I even skipped her last hardcover because the story line sounded like a do-over of so many of her older books. This saddens me because Nora has always been an auto-buy for me. Not anymore. Oh well, she's given us tons of great books over the years-I guess I'll just have to keep re-reading those until she returns to her great form.

Really Liked It - 4 stars
    Blood Brothers Review
Like a lot of the others who have commented, I have found Nora Roberts hit and miss. This book was a hit for me. It had a little of that ends up a little too perfect romance aspect, but the dialog had me laughing out loud (in a good way). I also think the story line moves at a good pace. Definitely worth the $$ for the paper back or the kindle version. I even got my husband hooked on it.
