Product Description:
Some of the government's best-kept secrets are waiting to be uncovered as Eureka:Season One arrives on DVD! Step into the quirky and seemingly perfect small town of Eureka, where the hidden work of America's brightest scientists can lead to innovation or utter chaos. Making sense of the mysteries is Sheriff Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson), a former U.S. marshal who is stranded in the surreal small town after a random car accident. Now fans can get in on his entertaining adventures with this 3-disc set packed with over 10 hours of bonus features and innovatively packaged in eco-friendly materials that were "Made in Eureka." Nothing is as it seems in the brilliant and witty new series critics are calling "the most original new drams" (The Courier-Journal).

We took a chance and ordered the "Eureka - Season One" set without ever having seen an episode on TV. We found Eureka to be a very entertaining Sci-Fi series, complete with a strong cast, great writing, and good use of humor and action. We watch this together (son 12, daughter 16, wife 47, me 44) and only once or twice found an "adult" situation that we made our son close his eyes for (really not bad).
One of the best parts of the series is the time spent on strong character development, it did seem to get the series off to a slightly slow start but it was worth it as the show progressed. By the end of the first season, the characters are fully fleshed out and very "real".
This is a very funny and smart series! Highly recommended!

Is funny, highly entertaining, dramatic and definitely worth watching. For the fans of Light Sci Fi, is a must.
The package on the other hand is really bad. Is fails to keep the Disks in Place, and is unnecessarily bulky.
3 DVD's, I recommend them.

I'm perfectly happy with the basic product. The DVD set of Eureka Season One is what I expected.
Unfortunately, the cardboard case holding the DVDs was a little beat up - the handling and packaging process was apparently less than ideal.

Cannot say enough about what a GREAT and inventive series this is - HOWEVER, BE WARNED: IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO BE ABLE TO *WATCH* THIS GEM THEN BE AWARE THAT IT COMES PACKAGED IN AN AMAZINGLY CRAPPY HARD STYROFOAM CASE INSERT EVER DEVISED WHICH VERY WELL MAY *DROP YOUR BRAND NEW DVDS ALL OVER THE FLOOR THE MOMENT YOU OPEN THE PACKAGE!!!
(*Reference: If your piece of buttered toast lands on the floor, WHICH side is going to land face DOWN 99 percent of the time?)
Regardless, NEVER, EVER trust this case to properly lock your DVDs in place properly! Consumer complaints actually forced the company to switch its internal packaging to plastic hubs for the second season. You can buy replacement adhesive hubs at Wal*Mart to salvage your existing case.
ENJOY!
