For Celtic Thunder, Sharon Browne has teamed up with Grammy-nominated Irish songwriting and composing veteran Phil Coulter to produce a show that includes an eclectic mix of songs ranging from the traditional "Mountains of Mourne" and "Come By the Hills" to international hits such as "Brothers in Arms" and "Desperado," as well as original compositions by Coulter, who has written hits for Elvis Presley ("My Boy") and the Bay City Rollers, and performed with Van Morrison, Tom Jones, and the Rolling Stones. The ensemble numbers in Celtic Thunder reflect the power of the vocalists, who range in age from 14 to 40, and feature songs that celebrate a common Celtic heritage.

First saw this show in CA while on vacation. I was totally amazed when I saw Damian singing Puppy Love......was a huge Paul Anka fan in my teens and don't like to hear anyone else sing that song, until now! Then Keith came on just as I was about to change the channel. Well, I stayed put....his voice and style drew me in over and over with each song. Then George sang The Old Man and I cried....he is such a talent. I laughed at Ryan as the "Heartbreaker" and swooned to Paul singing "Remember Me". I love this dvd and am ordering another one today so I will have one to share. The people I have shown this show to have all gone out and gotten their own. Can't wait to see them in concert this Fall.

Absolutely blown away! Having lived in Northern Ireland, we've developed a strong fondness of Irish music. CELTIC THUNDER is a beautiful production - from the selection of voices and personalities, to the choices of music, to the intimacy of the production itself, the cinephotography and the editing. This is the first DVD I have found in which I would not change one thing. I have purchased several copies as presents for friends and relatives too. (A caution however: it compelled our upgrading to an LCD HD television and further to full-surround sound, so the experience while always becoming better, was a bit more expensive than first anticipated!)

I think I might have written maybe 5 reviews in my lifetime, and this DVD was so powerful and moving that I had to write just one more. After I saw this group on PBS, I knew I had to order the DVD...which I did. I have now watched the show on DVD several times and enjoyed it so much that I ordered the CD of their music which I listen to in the car. These 5 guys are so totally unique and different from each other, it would seem unlikely that they should even be on the same stage. But once you've heard the harmony you will realize that they were made to perform together. Being a guy, it's hard to admit that I always have tears in my eyes every time I hear them sing. They are THAT good.

Celtic Thunder are an amazing group of men! They are fantastic singers both as a group and individually. They are extremely handsome too, a little eye candy never hurts at all! Damian's rendition of "Puppy Love" is so sweet while sexy at the same time! All the singers are awesome and I highly recommend the dvd to all!

There is something for everyone in this DVD. The singers are extraordinary. There is a wonderful variety in the styles of song and the sound quality is wonderful. Many of the lyrics will replay in your mind for days afterwards.
