My Sweet Vegan: passionate about dessert Review

This book is a "WOW". The recipes are amazing and I love that there are images of almost all the desserts. My favorite would have to be the chocolate cherry truffle......very easy to make and people were just amazed that the dessert was not only vegan but that it only had four ingredients...
I can't recommend this book enough to any vegan (unless they have a weight problem, that is...the recipes here are quite fattening and addictive!)

My Sweet Vegan Great for Dairy-Allergic People -

My Sweet Vegan: passionate about dessert Review

When I received my copy of My Sweet Vegan, it was so much fun to hand it to my dairy-allergic daughter and say, "All of these recipes are dairy free. Which one do you want to make first?" She looked at the beautiful, full-color photos of rich and creamy and chocolate-y and caramel-y desserts and said, "ALL of them? I can eat them all?"
Yes, she can, and so can the egg allergic and vegans. They can all enjoy Whoopie Pies and Bananas Foster Cake and Pumpkin Pecan Pie.
A few of the ingredients are a challenge for us to find in our small town right now, such as brown rice syrup and dairy-free soy yogurt. But we are working on it, and since we are not vegans or allergic to eggs, we can use ingredients like honey and eggs (and dairy-free sour cream) if we're stuck.

The Sweet Life -
|
My Sweet Vegan: passionate about dessert Review
|

|
My Sweet Vegan is a baked goods cookbook for everyone...vegans, omnivores, and everyone in between. Ms. Kaminsky injects her cookbook with lovely anecdotes for each recipe, giving readers a glimpse into her life and her inspiration. What's more is that she pairs each recipe with a photograph, which is incredibly rare and highly desirable. Of the more than 50 cookbooks I own, this is the only one with a photograph to correspond with each recipe and it's something I wish every cookbook featured.
I'd recommend My Sweet Vegan for anyone who loves to bake and for anyone who would like to learn how to bake. Also, if you'd like someone to bake for you, buying that person a copy of My Sweet Vegan would be a great way to drop that hint! I've baked countless recipes from this book and have earned rave reviews for each and every bite.

My Sweet Vegan Wasn't So Sweet After All! -

Most of the recipes were subpar or out of the ordinary. I recommend this book only if you are an adventurous person. I understand that it is written by an eighteen year old. I only kept the book because she is in college and I used the money as a donation, otherwise, I would have returned the book. Of course, there a few recipes I will try. They seemed to be worthy of my time to create.
Save time and money by ordering The Joy of Vegan Baking by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, what a wonderful book. This book is the best vegan book I have ever bought or read. Colleen's book is well worth the investment!
