Pray On..., December 22, 2008

Phil takes it up a notch with his varied view of life, love, and introspection. If you want to get a taste of a different kind of country then this will whet your appetite for more, as Phil is a true professional musician that enjoys making songs with heart.

The more i listen to this cd, the more i like it. I must say that i think i like the title track best, at first i didnt like it, but now i love that song, you can tell it has meaning and Phil sings it that way. I think he is and always has been a great song writer, and i just think he is fantastic. I would definately highly recommend this album, and any other Phil Vassar albums, he is definately one of my very favorites. Hes great!!!

One of Phil's Best !, July 20, 2008

Short and to the point. If you appreciate well written, from the heart lyrics, catchy melodies, good harmonies, and a man with a good vocal range and a strong voice with the perfect knack of filling his song with just the right amount of emotion, just a hint of tears stinging his eyes, or the joy and freedom of youth ready to bust loose and run....
A man with that perfect knack because he's lived and felt every one of those emotions he so cleverly wrote into lyrics....If you like to feel your music...Then buy this CD. It's worth every penny.

Same Singer, Different Album, June 5, 2008

I like Phil Vassar, I really do. His first two albums I loved. There after, he hit a lul with me. This last one, while still not as good as his original albums is a definite step in the right direction. It's easy to like, many good melodies, and has restored my faith in him. He definitely is a talent and I wish that he'd show country music fans just how musically talented he is while also being able to make music the masses can enjoy.

Not the best..., June 2, 2008

I have been a long-time "phan" but was disappointed with Phil's most recent offering, "Prayer of a Common Man." Except for a couple of tracks, most of the songs seemed to have a thread of anger or regret running through them (which probably isn't unexpected, since Phil went through a divorce during the writing of this album). I just don't find myself reaching for this CD nearly as often as I do for his prior albums, especially "Shaken, Not Stirred." For a serious phan, you will want to add this to your collection, but I am waiting for the next album in hopes that Phil returns to the more optimistic, catchy sounds of his past.
