I got this book because I am a fan of the Halo series. Yes, i have played, beaten, and multiplayed all three and enjoyed them all, even read most of the books. So getting the graphic novel just seemed to make since (and why not, Microsoft already has a ton of my money). But one thing that needs to be said is the book is not meant for all. No, the artistry, the story, heck, even the characterization will fall on deaf ears to anyone that has not beaten at least two of the games. I even entered the book with an open mid, and had to switch to a closed mind just to follow pace with what some of the stories were getting at. The artwork is the best reason for buying the book, and I felt the overall story was but a mere brief mention.
STill worthy of purchase, if you like Halo.

I bought this item for my brother's 19th birthday. He loves all 3 HALO games and this was a perfect addition to his collection. I myself was surprised to find that it is a really high-quality book. The artwork is inventive and stunning, while the stories offer additional viewpoints in the HALO narrative. This is an excellent gift for any HALO or graphic arts fan.

I read through this book while on a short visit to the library. I had been looking forward to it and was amazed that it was even on the shelf. Once I "read" it I understood why it was there. WAY too short and WAY too hyped. I expected a lot more from the game that redifined the FPS, and has set THE STANDARD for online gaming. I am a huge fan of HALO, but I would be doing everyone a disservice if I recommended that anyone actually BUY this book. Maybe a second edition will prove a better tome.
