    Description
    From Amazon.com:

Part hard-boiled detective story, and part interactive mystery, Hotel Dusk: Room 215 is an intriguingly addictive yarn that takes place over the course of one night; December 24, 1979.

    Game Storyline
Kyle Hyde, a disgraced New York detective turned salesman, arrives at a run-down Los Angeles inn called Hotel Dusk. Once there, Kyle soon becomes involved in a 30-year-old mystery that involves lies, betrayal, kidnapping, and murder.

Wander into the Hotel Dusk and find yourself part of a 30-year-old mystery.

Unveil the secrets of the main character, Kyle Hyde. View larger.

Unique dual screen gameplay makes the mystery all the more engaging. View larger.
And over the course of the night, he will also discover something very special about Room 215, a room that is said to grant wishes.

But who is Kyle Hyde? Why does his past haunt him? And what happened in Room 215? Only by taking a stylus in hand and navigating through the story's twists and turns can you learn the answers.

    Gameplay
Players hold their Nintendo DS like a book and use the touch screen to grill characters, search for clues, and solve mystifying puzzles. Simple point-and-click touch screen navigation allows for players of any skill level to play.

Hotel Dusk uses branching storylines to tell its tale, giving you many options for how to go about solving the mystery. Should you strong-arm a suspicious stranger in the hallway? Be friendly to the hotel maid? Pretend to be interested in the manager's rambling stories? It's all up to you, but choose wisely. One false step could get you thrown out of the hotel and forever seal the mystery of what happened on that dark Christmas eve so many years ago.

Not so great - 3 stars

This is a slow moving, boring game. It isn't very challenging or entertaining. I can't get past the check-in screen because it takes too much time and is so boring.
    A hidden gem - 4 stars
    Hotel Dusk: Room 215 Review
I purchased this game after reading reviews from other people on Amazon and have to say I was thoroughly pleased. You may remember the choose your own adventure books that were popular years ago, this is the same concept and just as much fun. I'd recommend it for anyone who's looking for something a little different from the typical platformers that are so popular on the DS right now.
Best game ever - 5 stars
    Hotel Dusk: Room 215 Review
I'm not an experienced gamer and have been generally turned off by computer games in the past where I end up in some room having no idea what to do. This game is like being immersed in a book....being part of the book. It was fantastic!

The game gives you a lot of leeway and a lot clues and lets your real-life experience help you in making decisions. If you do make mistakes and get thrown out of the game (which really felt bad the first time...but you get used to it!) you can pretty much start up right before you made the mistakes and have a redo.

It guides you through (for instance in one part you can't leave a room before you find something else). It doesn't rely on you remembering something that was said once in Chapter One and never mentioned again. There's lots of repetition and summing up the facts as you listen to the main character's internal dialog.

It is the only game that I've ever played where I didn't have to use the walkthrough. I couldn't get the story and the characters out of mind. Just like reading a great book. More than a game I'd say it's an immersive book. I hope they come out with a sequel.

Slow going but fun! - 5 stars
    Hotel Dusk: Room 215 Review
I love this game. It was definitely slow going, and i couldn't play it all at once at first, but once it got a move on it wasn't bad. Kyle Hyde is a pretty likeable character. Comparing it the Ace Attorney series is a no-no. Two completely different league of games, but this was a nice between games game.
I absolutely loved this game! - 5 stars
    Hotel Dusk: Room 215 Review
I really loved this game. I was a little hesitant to buy it at first because I am not really into video games. I was at Best Buy with my two young boys, whom are video game buffs, and I came across it. It seems like Nintendo is marketing DS games for adults now and this game seemed interesting. I've always loved mystery novels and movies so I decided to give this a try. It was the best $20 I spent in a long time!

I was totally addicted to this game. I finished it in less than a week, and that was because I had other things to do (like work, go to school, and take care of my family!). At one point, I stayed up until 5 AM playing this thing. That's how addicted I was.

I must admit that there are some parts in the game that are a bit annoying, like being kicked out of the game after reading tons of text and then having to read everything all over. It would be good if they added a feature to this game where you would be able to bypass all of that if you've already read it. I also got stuck a few times so I went online and read some walk-thrus.

I agree with the some of the other reviewers about the many questions left unanswered at the end of the game. Hopefully, that means they will be making a part 2 (and soon!).

All in all, this game was a blast. I loved the graphics and the characters were awesome. My favorite was Louie DeNonno. He had me cracking up.

Get this game if you love mystery novels. You won't regret it.
