The remote makes the PS3 work more like a DVD player instead of a game system. The only problem we have had is the location of the stop and pause buttons. We have made mistakes more than once trying to pause a movie. This proves to be a pain with the playstation

Sony's got a winner with this one. If you use your PS3 as a DVD/BluRay player, you'll appreciate the easy to navigate remote that makes navigating DVD menu screens much easier. It would be better with backlit buttons, but hey, it's only 20 bucks and it does everything exactly as advertised with a solid build quality to boot. This should really have been included in the box with the PS3. Excellent.

The Sony PlayStation 3 Blu-ray Disc Remote is the best choice for people who use the PS3 mainly as a Blu-Ray Disc reproducer. Very easy to use. Complete functions. Totally recommended.

It's not only a Blueray remote. It will control movies that you stream over a network to your PS3, which is great. I like it a lot and would recommend buying one if you have a PS3.
