Rock Band Bass Drum Pedal Plate Review

My uncle was playing Rock Band over Thanksgiving, and, as a bigger guy, quickly broke the bass pedal in half. I quickly went on amazon to find a new one, and came across this product.
It certainly does the job. The only issue I had was I had to drill small pilot holes for the screws that it came with, as the self tapping screws wouldn't go into the plastic pedal without them. When it was all said and done, it took less than ten minutes to put the pedal all back together.

My son had his second pedal break. First time, EA replaced without a problem. This time they would only advise buying a cheaper-looking replacement at one of the electronics stores. Instead, after doing some research, I sent for Pedal Metal. We first glued the pedal with super glue and let dry overnight. Then we screwed on the protective plate. Went on fairly easy, just took some pressure to get the screws to dig in. The pedal feels really solid. My son's back to using it again with no problems at all. Replacement pedals generally won't hook on the drum set like this one. This, in my opinion, is the best option for a broken pedal.

Rock Band Bass Drum Pedal Plate Review

This review is for the "Rock Band Bass Drum Pedal Plate - PEDAL METAL BILLET." This review may be repeating what other people have said, but I want to reinforce any positive things that people have said about this product. If you are like me, you are skeptical about third party peripherals. Well, don't be skeptical about this product. This product is excellent.
To explain my story, I broke my 'Rock Band 1' bass drum pedal while playing. The pedal cracked horizonally when my heel finally snapped the weak soft spot at about 3/4 down the pedal. So I needed to either wait and buy the Rock Band 2 drum kit (with the metal bass drum pedal) or I could take a chance on one of these third party metal pedal plate.
Well, I decided that it was not worth it to go out and buy a whole new drum kit so I tried out this Rock Band Bass Drum Pedal Plate and I am absolutely satisfied with it.
The installation was VERY easy! The only thing I want to point out (which is really a minor issue in the long run) is that the installation is not as quick as you may be led to believe. I, personally, suck at handyman type stuff so in total it took me about 45 minutes (that's after figuring out which tools to pick out of my dad's tool chest, then thinking about how to carefully do the whole process, then slowly twisting the screws to pierce through the drum pedal's plastic).
Nonetheless, when it's all said and done, the medal plate melds perfectly with the EA Rock Band pedal, visually (because you don't want some out-of-place thing dangling on your drum kit). AND as of now, I've had my metal billet for about two months and it has stayed in place perfectly and does not feel bad at all. So, I would definitely recommend this metal plate. It looks great, it works great, and really does not change the way you are used to playing Rock Band. It's from a very small third party maker but it was made very well.

Tougher installation than advertised, but works great -

I used this to fix a broken pedal (with the common break in the middle). I found the installation to be significantly harder than advertised (took hours). However, once installed, this works great. While playing, you'd never know that it was ever broken. There was an adjustment period for me, though, and I definitely recommend playing without shoes with this. It will help your technique, and with the countersunk screws, it feels great. (Make sure you get this Billet plate and not the Diamond one.)
Highly recommended, especially if your pedal is broken in the middle and your warranty is up. Be warned that depending on the break in your pedal, this product may not solve your problem, so do some research on it first.

Whoever invented this to put on the plastic foot pedal is a genius. After ours broke, I went searching online & found this metal pedal. The price was great & the shipping was fast. Installation was so easy. It is nice to not have to worry about the pedal breaking while we are in the middle of a song.
