World Heroes Anthology Review

Strangely, I don't recall some of these World Heroes games being this difficult. Thankfully, you can change the difficulty on this port! You can also change the color on your character, the music, and practice those hard to perform combos in practice mode. I'm not a big World Heroes fan, but I love SNK NeoGeo! Any true fan will need to have this title in their library.

Not a bad game but some aspects it seems they were rushing to get this game completed when it came out years ago. The game play is all wrong and the controls are not on point at times. needs a fully overhaul to compete with street fighter, the best 2D fighter ever.

World Heroes Anthology Review

I've played "World Heroes" series at the arcade. And burned many quarters to reach the end of each version with two or three of my most favorite charaters, Now in the present I no lorger have to pay, and now I could see every characters ending. The game appears to be ARCADE PERFECT ports of each game which I REALLY WANT out of these old school compiliations. Controls alittle off because it's setup is based on the PS2 dualshock controller. But with practice It won't be that much of an issue. All SNK can do for all their SNK ports is design a 4 button w joystick pad and sell it retail if we all really want the old arcade flavor, but it's wishful thinking. Bottom line, For old school arcade gaming collectors ONLY!! New school gamers*(post PSOne, Saturn, SNES) wouldn't even know how to appreciate old gems like these.

World Heroes Anthology Review

I was one of those oddballs who gleefully walked past the Street Fighter machines, in search of the bright red NeoGeo cabinets, back in my arcade days.
On pure hope, I picked this up for my PS3 (I don't have a PS2), and as luck would have it, the game runs exactly as I had hoped.
As far as the games go... well... you'd have to have a special place in your heart for World Heroes to really enjoy this disc. The graphics are crude (though arcade faithful, right up to the Neo Geo boot screens!), and although you can access a menu that shows every character's special moves, they're probably going to be a bit confusing to anyone who didn't play this in the arcade.
That all said, if you ever enjoyed even one of the World Heroes games, buying this anthology will be money well spent.

I really love this collection. But I can view it from the perspective of when these games were top of the line products in the arcade (unfortunately has closed down by now) a block from my home. If you don't have found memories, I don't know how you could like this game since today's products clearly beat out these old "masterpieces." I remember not having enough quarters and wanting to play World Heroes 1 death match mode one more time. I remember all the characters... I'm obviously biased and this is my favorite collection. Round One FIGHT!!!!
