Wii Rock Band Wireless Guitar Review

I just bought RB for Wii and am already disappointed with TWO major F-ups that the vendor(s) have made. (1) The game is setup to have FOUR players but only comes with Three controllers!?!? (a) Why didnt Harmonix sell a "special edition" with a BASS controller?!?? (b) Why are all the GH controllers NOT compatible with RB? (on the Wii they both transmit through the Wii remote)
(2) TRY and find a Wii compatible 2nd guitar, much less a bass?!? (a) there are maybe two available (I only found One), (b) none are Bass specific like those available for other platforms, and (c) they are friggin $70 each!
AS A SOFTWARE PROFESSIONAL I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS STUPIDITY FROM VENDORS ON PRODUCTS THAT COST $250,000 ON UP! AS A FATHER AND CONSUMER I THINK THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS CRAP TO OCCUR FOR CONSUMER ENTERTAINMENT ELECTRONICS, WHEN WILL GAME AND SOFTWARE VENDORS PULL THEIR ARROGANT HEADS OUT OF THEIR ORIFICES?

I don't really like this guitar -

Wii Rock Band Wireless Guitar Review

I started playing music games with Guitar Hero III for the Wii. I love the game and still play it regularly. So I picked up Rock Band for the Wii not long ago thinking it couldn't be much different.
I'll say that had I purchased Rock Band first, I may not still be playing music games. This is due almost completely to the Rock Band guitar.
Perhaps I'm biased by having "honed" my game skills on the Guitar Hero guitar, but I just prefer it soooo much to this guitar. The Rock Band guitar's strum bar is so spongy/mushy, that it's hard to tell if your strum has been registered. As opposed to Guitar Hero's whichs clicks when you strum, giving some tactile feedback that you did indeed strum. It doesn't help that many of Rock Band's songs on hard have large sections of fast strumming.
The buttons are okay, and better than the strum bar. But I can't say they're my favorite either.
The guitar looks great, and feels pretty good. It's more appropriately sized than the Guitar Hero guitar and has some heft to it to make it seem more lifelike.
But I can't believe how much more I prefer the Guitar Hero guitar to this. Playing the same song in both games, I do not have fun with the RB guitar and yet want to play the song again and again with the GH guitar.
If you have a PS3 or Xbox360, you have the option of playing RB with the GH guitar and I would recommend it. Us Wii owners don't have that option though. And because of that, I'll be selling RB, not getting RB2, and playing GH, and GHWT as much as possible. And believe me, it doesn't have anything to do with the game, it has everything to do with this guitar. It makes the game unfun for me. Strange, I know, but there it is.
I wanted to like it...I really did. I love music/band games and it never hurts to have more songs and games to play.
Maybe try it before you buy it and see what you think.

Rock band is the ultimate party game. And it's so open to everyone. If you don't have rythm, you can sing, and if you are a musical person, you can tackle either the drums or guitar with the otion of playing bass as well. Get it. Play it. Love it. Great variety of songs from every genre. MUST OWN.

Its basically the same as the guitar included in the original Rock Band set which is good for the most part. I was hoping it would include a bass head, but that's my only real complaint. Finally four of us can play Rock Band on my Wii

Rock band is really fun, my friends and i play for hours and hours, but the guitars and drums are really low quality. the plastic drum pedal snapped after only a week, the first guitar i got just plain stopped working after about 20 minutes of gameplay, and the whammy bar on the second guitar broke after just a few weeks.
i'm sure the equipment would be just fine under a gentle touch, but a game called rock band should be prepared for something a little more intense. EA games will replace any broken equipment, but you have to wait for them to send you a box, then wait for your broken equipment to get to them, then wait for them to send you a new one, meanwhile you only have half a game.
I don't know what anyone can do about it though, just be aware that the stuff is fragile, and try not to let it ruin a great game.
